Birthday treats at Ben's KLCC

It has a lovely ambiance and sometimes I would like to have the same interior designs for my future house (just an angan-angan). One day I said to my fiance' that the place was awesome and proposed that maybe both of us can dine there together. As time goes by, after the his sulking face towards my forgetfulness finally I managed to bring him to the Ben's located at Suria KLCC. It was his first time there and he loves the place too!

Since he was always away from me and once in a blue moon seeing around, to have a lunch with him is a bless. Especially if my tummy was full, he was there for me to eat them all. Meanwhile for dessert we have this lovely Macadamia CheeseCake Sundae. Actually, I would like to have the pavlova...but no thanks because the serving for the crabmeat linguine was really alot!

Keep on Rocking!

The birthday cake.
As promised, yesterday all of us had such a great time celebrating Dr Kharidah's birthday! Although, it doesn't happen as planned but I was still a big surprise to her. Forget me not to tell you the deli-cious-ness of the foods especially the Butterscotch Cake from the Secret Recipe. It was not too sweet and very creamy!

It was hard to take someone picture while they are presenting their thoughtful speeches. It turns out I have plenty of Dr Kharidah's picture and with her face expression too. I felt lucky at this moment while writing this. Hahaha.

Happy Birthday Kak Yati!

On 22.06.2012, I like to wish Happy Birthday to Nor Haryati Ali a.k.a Kak Ti. May Allah bless you always! Always happy and will be loved by others around you.

Specially for her, I bake a new cake that I have modified and Alhamdulillah They said it taste great! Not too sweet as for my previous recipes. I am glad that she love the cake.Phew~ I know her favorite color was pink, and I made a Custard Layered Cake with bits of Chocolate Chips. Looks very delicious!

Birthday girl cutting the cake :)
So, this time I like to share with you guys the recipe. It was simple and surely you can do it too. The important tip for this recipe is to layer the cake white the custard is still hot. Before pouring the custard, grease your 8 inch spring form pan with butter so that the cake will came out easily and will not stick to the pan. To ensure the is no bubble trapped in the custard, you have to press the cake a little bit to the custard. Good luck!

Pink Vanilla Layered Sponge Cake

 Sponge Cake

     125g Cake Flour
     1tsp Baking Powder
     160g Castor Sugar
     5 Large Eggs (A Grade)
75g Vegetable Oil (I used corn oil)
     1tsp Ovalette
     1tsp Vanilla Essence
     2tbs Fresh / Evaporated Milk
     Red colorant

  1. Preheat oven at 180˚C.
  2. Sieve together flour and baking power in bowl and put aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mixed together all the ingredients except the flour. Beat the ingredients with electric mixer at high speed until the mixture increased and fluffy.
  4. Put in the flour to the mixture and mixed until the mixture combined.
  5. Divide the cake batter into three (~200g) and mix with colorant (you can choose any color you wanted for your cake).
  6. Greased three of 8-inched spring form baking pan with butter and put in the batter.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes.

     800g / 2 cans Evaporated Milk
     250g Castor Sugar
     85g Instant Custard Flour
     250ml Water
    10g Instant Agar-agar Powder
    1tbs Vanilla Essence
    Dessicated Coconut
    Chocolate Chips

  1. Combine together all the ingredients in a pan
  2. Cook the custard at medium heat and stir the mixture until thick.
  3. Pour in the custard mixture in 8-inch spring form baking pan and layered with the sponge cake.
  4. Refrigerate the layered cake in fridge for at least 2 hours (overnight would be better). Decorate the cake with desiccated coconut and ready to be served.

On 4th Feb 2012, I woke up and look myself in the mirror. Look at myself in every inch and every bits of it. Checking for any sign of wrinkles. Thank goodness there is none of it. But to start counting on pimples that grew overnight, is not a happy moments to start a new day.

The beginning of twenty eight. I am proud of it and Alhamdulillah I am still alive and be able to write again and again. Happy Birthday to me! Things that I had hoped for this year are may there are more happiness, love and lots of surprises! To those who wished and sang a birthday song, thank you so much and I really appreciate it so much! What a memorable year! To dear friends, Zaidiana and Pija, thanks for the chocolate treats although seriously my stomach was pretty full by the Arabian food. Hey, on your birthday next month let us have a road trip then. Jom!

Treat from the girls!

The things I might not forget is to have a special gift from someone special. Thank you dear for the flower and the chocolate and the thought although you are far away. While writing this, I definitely sure that I missed you so much, but too ego to tell it directly to you.

Hope this day is as special as you are

Birthday Cake...Missing!

Funny story for this month of October peps... A friend of mine was baking a nice chocolate cake for one of our colleague who is having her 22nd birthday but she is on leave for 2 days because of the high fever (poor girl)... So, my friend here put in the chocolate cake in the fridge before the poor girl came to work...and one fine morning :

                    Colleague :
Open up the fridge  and took out the cake box...
"Eh, apesal cam ringan je bekas kek ni?
(Translation : Eh, why is the cake box was so light?)"
Then she open up the box and with shocking voice...
"Siape pulak yang makan kek ni?"
(Translation: Who the hell ate this cake??!!)

                    Birthday Girl :
Thank goodness she doesn't end up crying....

Are you interested to know how much left of the cake? Even the Angry Bird will be angrier for these matters..

Poor Birthday Girl.....not only she feeling unwell and plus the chocolate cake too was eaten by somebody else which is UNKNOWN...hahaha...and this is not the first time since my food also has been missing in action too last year.

PS: Kak Ana nanti boleh buat lagi okey sebab memang sangat sedap lah~

The lesson is - Do not ate without permission, maybe someone will be sad because of your action...
