Cameron Trip: Mountain Strawberry Farm

As-Salam,

After we had filled our tummy with nice and sweet foods, the next mission would be hunting vegetables for our dinner tonight. Earlier on our way up the hill to BOH Tea plantation, Intan saw junction to a strawberry farm. We decided to go there after the meals. The strawberry farm was great! The most attractive thing about the place was the worker there was extra extra friendly (they even asked weather all of us are single but just answered we aren't). They willingly helped you to snap thousands of your crazy picture with giant size strawberries and tomatoes. I did participate because I found it hilarious and want to keep it as one of the memories.

Besides picking your own strawberries, you may also pick up other vegetable from the farm such as carrots, salads, tomatoes tamarillos and cabbage. Note that they also have their cactus garden but didn't managed to visit. I wonder why.

The price of strawberries was RM5.00/100g and RM45/1kg (correct if I'm wrong). Tell you a secret, if you don't mind about you strawberries size, please buy them from the night market or at Kea Farm. You can get much cheaper prize at RM20/kg. But, if you mind about the size, pick them yourself because it is more worth it.

Strawberries picked by Anas.
The most ugly cake ever made. Strawberries from Kea Farm. Didn't have the same size.

Good Bye to Delicious Ice Creams!

As-Salam,

Black Rice Ice Cream
Salam Jumaat semua. I think this week was the hardest week of all. Well, from the picture you may see how good the ice-cream looks like. People, introducing ice-creams made from red and black rice. Alhamdulillah, it was a success but unfortunately, I was told this will need to stop and I was assign to another project for making break first cereal. Honestly I knew very well this was coming. It always has been this way. Belum sempat habis bikin product gempak, mesti tukar, tukar, tukar. Hei, bila nak maju ini macam people. YOU MAKE ME SICK! Nevermind, atleast now I know how to make good and healthy ice-cream. No need to buy from supermarket. Same goes to the break first cereal in the future maybe :)

Recipe: Biskut Cornflakes Madu

As Salam,

Selang beberapa hari lagi tiba bulan Syawal. Bagaimana dengan persiapan raya korang tahun ini? Mestilah meriahkan.

Semua biskut ini memang firstime buat dan biskut cornflakes madu was a special request from fiancée.

Moh kite tengok resepinya.

Resepi Biskut Cornflakes Madu
Bahan-bahan:
200g Buttercup
I kotak besar Nestle Cornflakes
1 ½ cup Madu
1 cup Gula Castor

Cara-cara:

Farewell Party at Pakistani Cuisine - Asif Beriani Restaurant

Hello,

Yesterday is the last working day for Mansor at our department. Sedih? Sedih tak? Sikit je. Mansor, lepas pindah tempat kerja baru ini, saya rasa semakin berasap la Innova kan. Maklumlah yang lain semua memang heavy smoker. OWH MY GOODNESS! Sentap! Huhu.

Kami satu department semalam feeling-feeling sambut farewell Mansor dan Ayu di Restoran Beriani Asif. Yup, this is my first time being there. I think it is not that far from the office. About 15 minute by walking. If there were no guidance from En. Sobri or En. Mohd Noor, I am sure we could not find the place.

At the entrance.
Taking pictures while waiting the meal. Highlights: I do think Kak Emy (in red blouse) looks slimmer from the last meeting.
The meal was absolutely remarkable. It is delicious and during the lunch period it is packs with people. I manage to take some picture of the food. Firstly, I tried their mango lassi and it was decious as if I am eating a fresh mango. Not kidding there. Then came the beriani rice made from 100% basmathi rice which is claimed to be good for your health has a really fluffy texture! Suka suka suka! The side dishes was even tastier - Chicken Masala, Lamb Shank, Grilled Lamb and Cucumber Salad. I didn't taste the chicken Masala. But the lamb shank was superb. The lamb was cooked perfectly and so tender! The grilled lamb was good too!

The food from the restaurant! Looks yummy!
Star of the day. I'm wishing all the best for both of them. May new place will gives them more joy and happiness!

Since gaining few kilos of fats, I am totally need to balanced up my diet and that is why the therm of cooking laziness took place. Because of the stamped of expiry date on the food label horrors me bit and some fast action needed to prevent any food wastage. At the time I have cream cheese, biscuits and dry apricots to work with. Yes, I think of cheesecake is the best way! Yums~

A slice of apricot cheesecake
Pardon me people. This is my first attempt of making apricot cheesecake. It looks nice but it does not taste as sweet as it looks. For someone with sweet tooth, I recommend to glaze the cake with more or just sweetened the glaze a little more. Enjoy the recipe and I am grateful if you have any comments to improve this recipe. Thank you in advance.

Burger Bakar - Abang Burn vs. Kaw-Kaw

Salam and Hello,

After five hours exhausting journey back to KL, there are warning sounds made by the tummy that can be heard by my neighbor. It screams, “Fill me up, Fill me up, Please!” With the cold whether due to the rain and plus the traffic jam, the head start to feel drowsy. Luckily, one of my friends (there are three of us) asked if we wanted to have dinner before reaching home. Gladly, I said yes!

Supremo -  meat burger with slice of cheese, onion rings and deep fried mushroom from Burger Bakar Abang Burn (RM10.50)
We choose to ate somewhere near to my house. But have no idea exactly where to eat. Suddenly my friend suggested trying burger bakar (grilled burger) since he never tasted it before. As for me, I have eaten them before this and I think it is quite good and it is a big meal. First time having burger bakar with my fiancée at Burger Bakar Abang Burn located in Kota Damansara. At that time I choose meat grilled burger with onion rings and mushrooms. A big credit for the juicy meat patty and love the mushrooms. But honestly I am not a fan of burgers with lots of chili sauce and extra mayo. Overalls, I kinda like it.

Baconizer - Beef burger with slice of cheese and beef bacon at Burger Bakar Kaw-Kaw (RM10.50).
After a few rounds of hunting the burger stalls at Wangsa Maju, finally we found Burger Bakar Kaw-Kaw. Since this was our first time here, we don’t know which one is the best. So, we ordered the same Baconizer Burger which consists of burger with beef patty, slice of cheese and two strips of beef bacon. Again, it was big! I can’t imagine those who are having more than 2 patties. They must be really hungry! My first bite experience, it was a splendor! Sedap sangat! Beyond my imagination. Less sauce and mayo just like I them. The patty taste different from the other burgers that I have eaten before. Less fats maybe because through my observation, if the patty have high fats, I will have the oily taste and gooey. Lucky me, this doesn’t have that. Taste like homemade ground meat (not the one you bought from supermarket) with few spices! Superb and seriously want to have it again after this!

Pertama Kali Makan Nasi Ambeng

Assalam,

Masih saya ingat ketika masih belajar di universiti, seorang sahabat yang berketurunan Jawa seringkali bercerita tentang keenakan nasi ambeng. Pertama kali mendengarnya saya bertanya, “Nasi ambeng tu ape?

Inilah rupa sepinggan nasi ambeng. Penuh sangat! Makan sampai mengah.

Semasa kerja lapangan di Kuala Selangor tempoh hari, pertama kali saya berkesempatan untuk merasa hidangan nasi ambeng di Warung Ibu, Tanjung Karang. Perasaan ketika menikmatinya....Sedap!

Sungai Gulang-Gulang, 45500, Tanjung Karang, Selangor.
Ia terletak kira-kira 12 minit dari bandar Kuala Selangor. (Pernah masuk JJCM 2010)

Cendol Bakar JJCM!

Hello.

Teruja sungguh! Kak Amy yang memang suka sangat bab-bab cari makan bersungguh cari lokasi Cendol Bakar.

Sape kate McD je ade Drive Thru?
Cari punya cari, jumpa jugak akhirnya. Tak jauh pun dari hotel yang kami. Lokasi - Jalan Bukit Rotan betul-betul sebelah Caltex. Ohmy...First time ade tempat begini. Exotic taste!

Cendol Pulut Durian dan Cendol VVIP
Ni jenis-jenis cendol yang dijual:
Cendol VIP (Nata de Coco + Selasih + Jagung + Kacang) RM2.00
Cendol VVIP (Pulut + Nata de Coco + Selasih + Jagung + Kacang) RM2.50
Cnedol Tapai  (Tapai + Nata de Coco + Selasih + Jagung + Kacang) RM2.80

Murahkan? Yang paling menarik lagi, masa nak bayar, ternampak plat JJCM. Lucky sangat kan. Iqram Dinzly baru ja datang kat sini 27 Jan 2013. Ohhoi! Clinic Café at Sunway Prai

A story of few months ago,

I was working up north and one night I was really hungry. Plus I have no idea where to find a good meal. Yup, being alone, hungry and far away from home was not a great thing. A night before, my colleagues was bragging about having dinner at a clinic near the hotel. They said that the clinic served them a really great meals and one of them were jabbed a few times. Half disbelieved with the jabbed thingy (because they look fine to me), at last they told me the truth that they had dinner at Clinic Café. Feel exited to try the food and I went there to have the experience.

A step in the restaurant, I can feel the ambience of being in a hospital! Oh my, the nurses welcoming you and help with the orders. Unique! The food was nice and some clinic’s utensils were used! I like! Feeling-feeling sangat macam orang sakit. Enjoy people!

Aww! The interior is just like in hospital.

KFC - Kelantan Fried Chicken

Assalamualaikum,

I never tasted before in my life the Kelantan Fried Chicken (also know as Kel FC). Normally the products were marketed at night market and they have hundreds of branch throughout Malaysia. But I found out that they have opened their first ever restaurant in Equine Serdang. The waitress told us that they had already operating 7 months ago and will be promoting their restaurant on Jalan-jalan Cari Makan (JJCM) on this 21 Jan 2013! I am sure the restaurant will be a hot spot after this.

Why did I say a HOT SPOT? It is because the price was so cheap and tasty! Really cheap and at the end of the day you are thankful enough with the full belly. I like to say that the  serving portion are more compared to the other KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken)! Of course the chicken size was absolutely bigger than what we usually eat at KFC. Not only that the chicken was marinated with their homemade recipe and it taste different. You have to taste it and you know what I mean.

Well, I guess it is time for some changes! Let us support local and Halal food. Jom review what my friends and I had at the Kel Fried Chicken. Demo boleh kecek kelate pah ni :)

Whole Leg Chicken Chop RM8.00

Kelantan Chicken Chop RM5.00 ( One of the hot item! )

Chicken Rice Kel FC RM6.00 - The rice was so soft and aromatic!

Ice blended Chocolate and Tiramisu RM3.00 each.

Recipe: Making Pavlova!

Alhamdulillah, we meet again. It has been a while I didn't write a thing or two for the blog. Yup, been super busy with the cookies and some madness situation that I have to handle patiently. The cookies business have been a great deal lately and for that I am so blessed and thankful for the sustenance. Syukur!

From making the cookies, there are lots of egg whites leftovers. After watching the Second Season of Masterchef  Malaysia, I am so keen to make myself a beautiful and puffy pavlova! It looks simple to make and yes people, it is so simple to make it. On the first trial, I gained the recipe from the net and the taste, masyaAllah! Super sweet and seriously I cannot eat them. Luckily I have my office colleague to finished them off. Actually I made the first pavlova especially for Maisarah birthday! Sorry Mai, it was too sweet to consume and happy belated birthday!

This second trial came out perfect with some alteration to the previous recipe. A major alteration of course! Less sweet and the fruits was so tempting! These are the recipe and may you enjoy baking it.

PAVLOVA RECIPE

Ingredients
150g egg whites
150g castor sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
2 teaspoons of corn flour.
125ml non dairy whipped cream
75ml milk or any liquid will do
2 tablespoons of powdered sugar.
Fresh fruits.
Methods
  1. Pre-heat oven to 170˚C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Draw a 8 inch circle on the parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat egg whites, vanilla, sugar, corn flour and lemon juice until stiff but not dry. Beat until thick and glossy. Do not over beat. Be absolutely sure not a particle of grease or egg yolk gets into.
  3. Spoon mixture inside the circle drawn on the parchment paper. Working from the center, spread mixture toward the outside edge, building edge slightly.
  4. Put your meringue into the oven and decrease the temperature to 100-120˚C. Bake for 1 hour and let the meringue rest a little bit in the oven (open the door a little bit). Cool on a wire rack.
  5. In a small bowl beat cream, milk and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form; set aside. Remove the parchment paper, and place meringue on a flat serving plate. Fill the center of the meringue with whipped cream. Top whipped cream with fresh fruits as what  you desires ( I recommend sweet sour fruits such as berries, mango, kiwi, passion fruits to balance the sweetness of the meringue).

Pardon my falling apricot :)

Birthday treats at Ben's KLCC

It has a lovely ambiance and sometimes I would like to have the same interior designs for my future house (just an angan-angan). One day I said to my fiance' that the place was awesome and proposed that maybe both of us can dine there together. As time goes by, after the his sulking face towards my forgetfulness finally I managed to bring him to the Ben's located at Suria KLCC. It was his first time there and he loves the place too!

Jom perkena mee rebus!

After a long hard day working at the trial plot in MARDI...I'm proudly announce it is now lunch time!
Today I was given a chance to choose the eating place! Hooray!
I'm thinking to have something light and no-no rice please! I had plenty of them and feels fat enough.
There was a nice place that I haven't yet visit since last time in 2010 with my lab's colleague.
They said the place was quite famous and it was true indeed because served you with delicious yet a simple meal.
Welcome to  Mee Rebus Mak Long!
Of course the house specialty was mee rebus. The plain mee rebus cost you for only RM3.50 and the special mee rebus (you can have it with beefs prawns or chickens) for only RM 4.50. Amazingly cheap! It was a simple detection on how to know to food was indeed good when Prof Albert is around. just asked him aout the food and if he answer, "ohh, I think the food is very nice, it wasn't spicy and I like it." This means that the food was great!
Besides mee rebus, you can have chicken rice and it was a nice dish also. Smelled of homemade cooking really rocks your appetite especially when you are really far away form home.

So, kawan-kawan, jangan lupa singgah na kalau ke Kepala Batas. Pi pekena mee rebus!

I'm having Mee Rebus Special with Beefs

Prof Albert is excited - I can it from here!
Tapai Pulut - as appetizer :)

Recipe: Tira Miss U (Tiramisu)

First attempt to make this yummy-licoius Tiramissu as per requested by my fiancee. But I didn't make it for him yet. This is for Kak Izan last birthday small celebration at the Lab. At first, I thought it was difficult to make tiramisu. But say no more! It was so easy even if the person who don't know how to cook can do it! No need an oven for baking, only a fridge will do! In my point of view, mascarpone cheese was seriously damn expensive. It is about RM18.00 per pack (if I'm not mistaken by the figure). So, decided to use only cream cheese and further more it was easy to find it here. Okey, let us view the recipe!

    Keep on Rocking!

    The birthday cake.

As promised, yesterday all of us had such a great time celebrating Dr Kharidah's birthday! Although, it doesn't happen as planned but I was still a big surprise to her. Forget me not to tell you the deli-cious-ness of the foods especially the Butterscotch Cake from the Secret Recipe. It was not too sweet and very creamy!

It was hard to take someone picture while they are presenting their thoughtful speeches. It turns out I have plenty of Dr Kharidah's picture and with her face expression too. I felt lucky at this moment while writing this. Hahaha.
