Hantaran - Paper Flower

Today me will tell you about the preparations. Hantaran was my favorite part of them all. Why? Because it was 100% handmade! Seriously I'm officially feel proud of myself. The Orange, yellow and pink roses was made from crepe paper. The secret for making this beautiful paper roses was patience and determination. The results was indeed satisfying and according to what I have imagine before! HAPPY!
The orange, pink and yellow paper flower!

People always says that sharing is caring rite? Here are the tutorials for making these Paper Roses. Well, from the tutorial, the roses was made from normal paper but this technique can be applied to other type of paper too! I believe you can do it too because it was simple to make.

Serious speaking, DIY stuff is far more cheaper. With a little bit of creativity and imagination you can turn up scraps to something wonderful, beautiful and amazing that may awe people who appreciate the creative things. These are the vendors which I bought all the supplies for making the hantarans:
  • Yen Riben at Semua House, Jalan TAR (pink and yellow crepe paper)
  • Cziplee Books and Stationery, Kajang (orange crepe paper )
  • SSF, Jalan Tar (white doily pattern fruit bowl and plate)
  • Kedai Bunga, Medan Idaman, Gombak (white and silver wire, ribbons, beads etc)
  • S&J Gift & Collection, Alpha Angle, Wangsa Maju (dark purple boxes)
  • Hinode Shop, Wangsa Walk (glass container)

If I had more flower it would be even greater. Plus, if I had put pillow (nowadays tends) between the hantaran's tray and the flower/box it will look more superb. But it's okey. I have another preparation of the wedding next year. It looks like I have to gather more info and latest trends from now onward. Wah, boleh? hihi. I like to say thank again to my aunt for the fruits and songket arrangement. To fold the songket into fan figure, yup I really do not know how to do that. Also to Mak Su Kartinie for making the complicated and beautiful Tulip Sarawak Layered Cake (the only one can do it). Not forgetting Pija and Zaidiana for the fondant cake and manage to have the same colour palette. The cake was bought from Isabella Kek, Danau Kota. Lastly to Aunty Rose and Shai for the sweet smelled of jasmine of  the Sirih Junjung.

The arrangement of the hantarans.

Close up by Anat Photography. (Lagi sharp seyh berbanding taken from my camera)

The theme of blue from their side - Love the color and arrangement ( it looks more WOW if picture were waken  with the blue pillow!)

Happy Birthday Dr Kharidah

Dear Dr. Syarifah Kharidah,

I like to wish you a warm 50th birthday!
May there will be more happiness ahead.

I made this butterfly card for her birthday and glad she loves it. Surprisingly she asked me this question, "Wow, you are so creative and what are you doing here as a Chemist?" Err, err, I really don't want to answer that. Then she added some more, "You should put up your own shop like what Lovely Lace kinda concept." I just smile at her and there of course I do had a little twinkling in my heart says, InsyaAllah Dr, someday maybe."

PS: Tomorrow I'll be updating the whole bunch of the birthday event and now still stuck here at the office...Terrible rains outside. Will be stuck in traffic jam of course!

Salam Aidilfitri

Assalamualaikum,

I like to wish Salam Aidilfitri to all friends and everybody who knows me. I hope that if there is a hard feeling between us, please forgive me. Sorry again for my harsh words or any actions that you may found  hurtful. A memorable year has pass by and there is so many things had happen. Some are sad, happy and great. For this upcoming Syawal, there will be more tension and happy stuff will swirl around. It will be a surprise to some people. Confirm! Seriously I am excited and nervous too. A month to go!

Because of the hustle for making all the cookies this year only now I have a chance of making this simple raya card for this year. Very simple indeed. No quilling card for this time.Well, I need to boost up my energy for the upcoming event. I didn't do anything yet for the flowers yet! The card looks cute right? Has taken me only 15 minutes to draw and color the flower, leaves and butterflies. I'm using the Faber-Castel pencil colour. Feeling-feeling like a school girl right now. I do remember in my younger days (well, I'm still young now) that I only knew to draw stick man / girl with their dresses on top. Hodoh! So, cikgu always gave me C- or D for my so-so artwork. I do feel untalented at that time and feeling a bit low. More sadly when my father do criticize me for my horrible drawings. He do says, "Apelah lukis orang lidi ja ni?". Now, I can make some artful things and yes, I will not give up for making more of them.

Using the Faber Castell pencil color and sketches on the plain paper.

Last but not least, Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir dan Batin!

Have you changed your skin?

He bought a really nice tumbler for me from Starbucks last month (I guess) and the stated on the tumbler "CREATE YOUR OWN TUMBLER" with some instruction on it. So, I decided to create new skin for my tumbler and happily can called it my own. Only takes a day to finished up the work. The interesting part is, you can put my name on it. Means that no one can steal it from me for sure unless he/she will take out the tumbler's skin of course. Attention people, let us make something that we can be PROUD of because we MADE it!

Before the MAKEUP!
I choose to have red poppies as the theme because really it was one of my favourite flower besides hydrangea, peony and ranunculus. See at the layout, it was easy rite? Bet you can do it too with your own creative designs!  Go go, change your tumbler's skin now!

Yeay! What a cute tumbler!

Paper Butterflies

Maybe some of you have seen the entry before and some of you might not. I just want to re-post it. The truth is, I only have the pictures...the real ones only Allah knows where I put it. Such a sad moment to remember and all the hard work, wasted! Seriously I missed them and have to accept they are gone. OMG!

All of the are indeed very inspiring rite? Wishing there will be more of them in future. All I need now is my own sweet time to think, design and create. Don't forget the space too! Well I guess it is time to pump up the spirit and create more of this fascinating stuff.

t.w.e.n.t.y.e.i.g.h.t

On 4th Feb 2012, I woke up and look myself in the mirror. Look at myself in every inch and every bits of it. Checking for any sign of wrinkles. Thank goodness there is none of it. But to start counting on pimples that grew overnight, is not a happy moments to start a new day.

The beginning of twenty eight. I am proud of it and Alhamdulillah I am still alive and be able to write again and again. Happy Birthday to me! Things that I had hoped for this year are may there are more happiness, love and lots of surprises! To those who wished and sang a birthday song, thank you so much and I really appreciate it so much! What a memorable year! To dear friends, Zaidiana and Pija, thanks for the chocolate treats although seriously my stomach was pretty full by the Arabian food. Hey, on your birthday next month let us have a road trip then. Jom!

Treat from the girls!

The things I might not forget is to have a special gift from someone special. Thank you dear for the flower and the chocolate and the thought although you are far away. While writing this, I definitely sure that I missed you so much, but too ego to tell it directly to you.

Hope this day is as special as you are
Count your life by smiles, not tears
Count your age by friends, not years.
Happy birthday!
